Trainer Daryn Charlton likes his chances in the $100,000 HQHRA Championship, the concluding feature of the Los Alamitos quarter horse meeting Saturday night. He will saddle 1990 national champions Jazzing Hi and Apprehend in the 440-yard race.

“If Apprehend doesn’t stumble and Jazzing Hi doesn’t get run into, they should finish first and second,” he said, not specifying which would win.

The field also has a third national champion, Tee Roy Reb.

The lineup, from the rail, with jockeys in parentheses: Ourautograph (Eddie Garcia), Dashin Dee Dee (James Brooks), Tempered Glass (Kip Didericksen), Dashing Val (Roman Figueroa), Heisajoy (James Lackey), Miss Racy Vike (Danny Cardoza), Tee Roy Reb (Steve Treasure), Lil Bit Rusty (John Creager), Jazzing Hi (Bruce Pilkenton) and Apprehend (Henry Garcia). All will carry 122 pounds.
