Authorities are trying to identify a man killed while attempting to cross Interstate 5 near Market Street, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The man was struck by a southbound car at 10:22 p.m. Monday, the spokesman said.
The man is believed to be a transient, about 25 years old, and was dressed in dark clothes, according to coroner’s investigator Robert Engel.
The driver of the vehicle was not cited, the spokesman said.
