Monrovia : Emergency Ride Policy OKd

City employees who car pool, walk or take the bus to work can get a free ride home if they have an emergency or are stranded at City Hall, under a plan approved Tuesday by the City Council.
The emergency ride policy is aimed at overcoming resistance to car pooling, said city management analyst Debbie Bell. Surveys have shown that many employees insist on driving their own cars to work because they fear they might not be able to get home if they are working late or if an emergency arises.
The city will take employees to their homes, cars or other locations in city vehicles, taxis or rental cars, Bell said.
