Portland Lead Cut to 3 at Sacramento

The Portland Trail Blazers, as they go into the All-Star break, aren’t quite as confident as they were a couple of weeks ago.

Their once imposing lead in the Pacific Division was cut to three games when rookie Travis Mays scored 27 points to lead the Kings to a 97-93 victory Wednesday night at Sacramento.

Two of Portland’s nine losses have come against Sacramento, which has only 13 victories.

Mays scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, nine from the free-throw line in the last 73 seconds.

The Blazers, who led the Lakers by six games two weeks ago, lead by only two games in the loss column.
