Peninsula School Officials Named to New Posts
Palos Verdes school officials last week announced new assignments for a number of administrators as part of the district’s reorganization plan.
The plan calls for 3,000 students from the district’s three high schools to be consolidated on one campus, Rolling Hills High School. The remaining two high school campuses would be converted for use as intermediate schools, and two existing intermediate schools would be closed.
Appointed as assistant principals of the new high school, expected to be named Peninsula High School, were Chris Bowles, currently an associate principal at Rolling Hills High; Jan Hilger, an associate principal at Palos Verdes High, and Andy Seymour, principal of Miraleste High.
Kelly Johnson, now principal of Palos Verdes High, was previously appointed principal of the new high school.
In other appointments, Pat Corwin, most recently principal of Soleado Elementary School, was selected as principal of the new Miraleste Intermediate School, and Lee Strauss, now associate principal of Miraleste High School, was named assistant principal of Miraleste Intermediate.
Also, Dick Hadley, now associate principal of Palos Verdes High, was appointed assistant principal of the new Palos Verdes Intermediate School. Mike Escalante, now principal at Rolling Hills High, was previously named principal of Palos Verdes Intermediate.
Finally, Dick Roletta, currently the assistant principal at Ridgecrest Intermediate School, was appointed principal of Soleado Elementary.
