Washington State Defeats Cal, 84-75

PULLMAN, Wash. —
Washington State assured itself of its first winning season in eight years by beating California, 84-75, in a Pacific 10 Conference game Saturday night.
Eddie Hill scored 21 points for Washington State, which improved its record to 15-6 overall and 7-4 in the Pac-10.
Washington State last had a winning season in 1983 when then-coach George Raveling’s team was 23-7 and lost to Virginia in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
California is 10-11 and 6-6.
