Stanford Rallies for 60-59 Victory
Adam Keefe scored 23 points and Stanford came back from an 11-point deficit in the second half to beat Washington, 60-59, in a Pacific 10 Conference game Sunday.
Freshman Brent Williams missed two free throws with 10 seconds left for Stanford (13-9 overall, 6-6 in Pac-10), giving Washington (12-9, 3-8) a chance to win. But Brent Merritt’s short baseline jumper fell short and Stanford ran out the clock.
Williams’ short jumper made it 60-58. Washington’s Dion Brown made one of two free throws with 20 seconds left to make it 60-59.
