David Cone got a raise of more than $1 million when he agreed with the New York Mets on a one-year contract worth $2.35 million. The settlement was 80% of the difference between Cone’s arbitration request of $2.45 million and the Mets’ offer of $1.95 million. Cone had been scheduled for a hearing today.
