Georgia Tech kept alive its NCAA at-large hopes and surprisingly did it against No. 6-ranked Arizona without a great performance by Kenny Anderson.

The standout sophomore guard struggled to 15 points on six-for-21 shooting, but Jon Barry scored 19 points and the Yellow Jackets’ front line came up with some tough defense and strong rebounding in a 62-56 victory Sunday.

The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Yellow Jackets, who are 14-9 with four regular-season games to play, two on the road.

Georgia Tech, which shot only 37% (23 of 62), finished with a 47-34 rebounding advantage, 22 on offense.

“The advantage for us coming in was inside, but our people inside just didn’t get the job done,” Arizona Coach Lute Olson said. “I told them, ‘If Anderson gets 40, he gets 40, but we can’t let them shoot a great percentage.’ Our guards did their job. It was the inside people who didn’t.”

Anderson made his first four shots of the second half and scored four of the six points as Georgia Tech started the second half with a 6-0 run.

Brian Williams had 20 points to lead Arizona (20-5).
