Readers Get Through to Block Oates’ Point
Bob Oates was wide to the right in his analysis of the field goal in the NFL (Feb. 19) . “A last-second field goal in a 21-20 game would be worth only one point,” is analogous to a slam dunk being worth only one point in a close basketball game. What the NFL needs is a two-point conversion, not a one-point field goal.
