Glendale Player, Coach Honored
Jennifer Dalton of Glendale High was selected as the Pacific League girls’ basketball most valuable player in a vote of league coaches. Dalton, a 5-foot-8 junior, averaged 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals for Glendale (19-6), which finished undefeated in league play and captured its first league title since 1980.
Paul Broneer, in his third year of coaching at Glendale, was named coach of the year. Glendale finished fifth last season with a 2-8 league record.
In addition, Glendale’s Tracy Young, a 5-1 sophomore, and Berlyn Cosman of Crescenta Valley, a 5-7 junior, were selected to the first team.
