SANTA ANA : 2 Teens Charged With Gang Murder
Murder charges were filed Tuesday against two youths in connection with the Jan. 24 gang shoot-out at Alona Park that left one person dead and two wounded.
One defendant, a 16-year-old from Santa Ana, was arrested Tuesday after police served a search warrant at his home, Police Lt. Robert Helton said.
The other youth, a 17-year-old from Tustin, was already in custody after an incident over the weekend involving a stolen vehicle, Helton said.
No arraignment date has been set.
Both are believed to be members of a gang that participated in the Alona Park shooting, Helton said. A 17-year-old rival gang member was killed.
Helton said authorities would seek to try the two youths as adults.
