Sockers’ Segota Appeals Fine

Share

Socker Branko Segota is appealing a decision by Commissioner Earl Foreman to fine Segota $1,000--the league maximum--for an incident March 1 in Kansas City in which Segota struck goalie Jim Gorsek with an extended foot on a slide tackle.

There appears to be a question of intent. Segota and Sockers Coach Ron Newman contend Segota did not mean to strike Gorsek.

Foreman apparently disagrees, saying “this type of misconduct will not be tolerated in the MSL.”
