In the Dana Hills girls’ track and field Invitational:
Amber Parkinson of Orange Lutheran set the meet record in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11 minutes 17.2 seconds. The previous mark was 11:30.
She also won the 800 (2:28.4), and Orange Lutheran won the meet with 160 points. Costa Mesa was second with 76.
In the Dana Hills boys’ track and field invitational:
Brian Lynch of Laguna Hills won the 1,600 and the 3,200, and Laguna Hills won the meet with 103 points. Maranatha was second with 77.
Lynch ran 4:35.01 in the 1,600 and 9:46.01 in the 3,200.
In the Beach Cities Invitational boys’ meet at Newport Harbor:
Capistrano Valley won the title with 72 points. Bernie Chapman won the triple jump (43-4 3/4) and the long jump (21-1), and John Allen won the shotput (53-6 1/2) and the discus (147-10).
