NBC News: Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson (“Rain Man”) will develop projects for NBC under a new exclusive multiseries deal beginning this fall. The network announced the pact Wednesday as it unveiled its programming strategy for 1991-92. NBC also renewed “Cheers” and said “Shannon’s Deal” will return at 10 p.m. April 9, replacing “Law and Order.”
