Fire Destroys Portable High School Classroom
Twenty Inglewood firefighters fought for 45 minutes to extinguish a blaze Friday at Inglewood High School, where a portable classroom was destroyed, fire officials said.
The blaze, which broke out about 3:45 p.m., engulfed three trailers that had been joined to create a 36-by-40-foot classroom, Battalion Chief Robert Brown said.
Several witnesses reported seeing one or two teen-agers running from the structure shortly before flames became visible, Brown said. Arson investigators said the fire’s origin was “suspicious.”
