Responses to Stories About Bernson Race

Thanks for reporter Myron Levin’s fine article detailing the shenanigans between City Councilman Hal Bernson and the developers of Porter Ranch regarding the proposed closure and relocation of Fire Station 8.

Thanks to Levin’s article, Bernson has now backpedaled and says he doesn’t want to see Station 8 relocated, but supports a plan I suggested to him in which the station would be kept open as a substation and a new station would be built to serve the northwest Valley.

In a follow-up article by John Schwada, Bernson’s spokesman says that Bernson never supported the closure, despite the fact that Bernson signed off on numerous documents that clearly state that the station would be closed.

Is Hal Bernson like Tom Bradley? He signs whatever is put in front of him, no questions asked?
