Two Simi Valley stores were robbed early Sunday in unrelated incidents, police said.

The first robbery occurred at 1:52 a.m. at the Stop N’ Go Market at 1695 Royal Ave., Sgt. Arch Morgan said.

Morgan said two men tried to leave the store without paying for four cases of beer.

When the clerk stopped one of them, the other man pulled out a small-caliber handgun and demanded the release of his friend, Morgan said.

The clerk let go of the man and the two fled on foot, dropping one case as they left the store, Morgan said.
