Mike Flanagan, the less publicized of the Baltimore Orioles’ comeback pitchers, signed a one-year contract for $250,000 with the team.
Former Cy Young Award winner Jim Palmer, 45, abandoned his comeback after one exhibition start early in spring training.
Flanagan, a 39-year-old left-hander who pitched three solid innings in Tuesday’s 10-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves at West Palm Beach, Fla., has a 2.00 earned-run average in five games this spring.
