On the weekend after college basketball’s Final Four and before the start of major league baseball’s regular season, hockey takes the sports television spotlight.

The Kings seek to rebound from Thursday’s 6-5 upset loss when they face the Vancouver Canucks in the second game of their Smythe Division Semifinal at 7:30 p.m. tonight on Prime Ticket. The Detroit Red Wings, also surprise winners Thursday, take on the St. Louis Blues in the second game of their Norris Division Semifinal at 5:30 p.m. today on SportsChannel.

Sunday, the Boston Bruins meet the Hartford Whalers in the third game of their Adams Division Semifinal (4:30 p.m., SportsChannel) and the New Jersey Devils visit the Pittsburgh Penguins for game three of their Patrick Division Semifinal (8 p.m., SportsChannel.)

Pro Basketball: With time running out in their quest for a 10th consecutive Pacific Division title, the Lakers play host to the Phoenix Suns for a 7:30 p.m. Prime Ticket telecast Sunday. NBC’s Sunday game (12:30 p.m., Channels 4, 36 and 39) matches the Philadelphia 76ers and the Chicago Bulls.

Baseball: The Dodgers and Angels play game two of the Freeway Series at 7 p.m. tonight on KTLA Channel 5.

Other Sports: Some of the West Coast’s top 3-year-olds prep for the Kentucky Derby in the $500,000 Santa Anita Derby, which will be seen today on a delayed basis on “Wide World of Sports,” (4:30 p.m., Channel 7, 3 and 42, 3:30 p.m. Channel 10.) The PGA Tour’s Independent Insurance Agent Open airs at 1 p.m. today on Channels 7, 3 and 42 and noon on Channel 10 with final round coverage set for 3 p.m. Sunday on all four ABC affiliates. Women’s tennis is represented by the Family Circle Cup at 1 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday on Channels 4, 36 and 39.
