A Chula Vista man was arrested this week in the February stabbing death of a 16-year-old South Bay youth, police said Friday.

Michael James, 21, who lives in the 200 block of Sea Vale Street, was taken into custody by San Diego police as he was leaving a temporary-work center in the 200 block of West Broadway in San Diego, police and jail officials said.

James is suspected in the stabbing death of Oscar Flores, 16, of San Ysidro during a gang-related confrontation Feb. 23 on Palm Avenue in San Diego, police said.
