A one-year-old San Diego boy died Saturday from injuries sustained when a vehicle being driven by his mother crashed Friday, authorities said.
San Diego police are investigating the accident, which occurred on Kelton Road at 6:10 p.m. Friday.
Police said the mother lost control of the vehicle, which then struck some guard posts and overturned. The infant, who the mother said was in the rear of the vehicle, was thrown from the car, officials said.
The mother and another child in the car were uninjured, authorities said.
The dead boy, Jahkiem Jahmel Deslouches, suffered a fractured skull and was taken to Children’s Hospital, police said. He died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, the medical examiner’s office said.
