COLLEGE ROUNDUP : No. 2 Chapman Gets Sweep in Softball
Sandy Olivas hit her 12th home run of the season in the first game and Chapman, ranked No. 2 in the nation, swept a California College Athletic Assn. softball doubleheader at UC Riverside on Wednesday.
Olivas hit a three-run home run in the first inning of a 4-0 victory, and the Panthers (32-6, 5-1 in conference) won the second game, 2-0.
In nonconference baseball:
UC Irvine 7, San Diego 6 (10 innings)--Craig Plumley’s bloop single drove in Al Rodriguez with the winning run in the top of the 10th for Irvine (19-20).
Christ College Irvine 17, The Masters 7--Paul Weldon had four hits.
