Monrovia : Firm to Aid Manager Hunt

Share

The City Council voted Tuesday to pay the executive search firm of Ralph Andersen & Associates $20,000 to recruit a new city manager to replace James E. Starbird, who announced last week that he is going to work for the city of West Covina.

The search is expected to begin in early May and wrap up in August. In the interim, the council agreed to temporarily boost the salary of Interim City Manager JeanneKennedy by 11% and to give her two assistants 5% raises while they temporarily take on extra responsibilities.

Councilman John Nobrega was the only council member to vote against the salary increases, saying they would send the wrong message to other city employees during a lean fiscal year for the city.
