A man shot and killed an employee of a biker magazine in Agoura Hills on Thursday, wounded another employee, then fatally shot himself, authorities said.

The wounded man, identified by hospital officials as Alex Lopez, underwent surgery for a gunshot wound at Westlake Medical Center and was in critical condition.

The other victims, whose names were withheld pending notification of relatives, died in the offices of Paisano Publications, which puts out the 400,000-circulation Easyriders magazine and other motorcycle publications. The building is in the 28200 block of Dorothy Avenue.

Michael VanDemark, a California Highway Patrol officer who was across the street issuing a ticket when the shooting occurred, said witnesses told him that the gunman and the other dead man were seeing the same woman and had been feuding for some time.

VanDemark said he had been told that Lopez was not an intended victim but got in the way while the gunman fired at the other man.

VanDemark said the gunman shot his intended victim in the chest, killing him. The gunman then apparently shot himself in the head. The officer said he found a .44-caliber pistol next to the gunman’s body.
