Houston shortstop Eric Yelding withdrew the appeal of his one-game suspension and will miss today’s game as the penalty for his actions in an April 11 game against Cincinnati. A ninth-inning fastball thrown by Rob Dibble went a foot behind Yelding’s back. The shortstop sprinted to the mound, took off his helmet and threw it at Dibble.
Dibble is appealing his three-game suspension.
