Syracuse’s Owens to Turn Pro
From Staff and Wire Reports
Syracuse basketball star Billy Owens said Tuesday he will pass up his final year of college eligibility to enter the NBA draft.
Owens said his decision was not influenced by an NCAA investigation at Syracuse.
Owens, a 6-foot-9 junior forward who will turn 22 next week, is expected to be among the top five picks in the June 26th NBA draft.
He averaged 23.3 points and 11.6 rebounds last season.
