RARING TO GO: Ex-Dodger Fernando Valenzuela told 435 youngsters in Huntington Beach to say no to drugs, stay in school and strive to achieve their goals (B2). One student at the Thursday morning assembly at James W. Franklin Elementary School asked whether he is a free agent. “Yeah, do you have a team?” Valenzuela quipped. “I can play for this school. . . . Need a left-handed first baseman?”
