Woman Dies After Being Hit by Car
A woman was fatally injured Saturday when she was hit by a car while crossing a Pacoima street.
The woman, whose identity had not been determined Saturday, is described as about 30 years old. She was hit by the car about noon while crossing Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Mercer Street, Los Angeles police said.
The driver, a 16-year-old boy from Sylmar, was not charged. “There’s no evidence of speeding or reckless driving,” Sgt. John Amott said.
The driver was traveling south on Laurel Canyon Boulevard when he struck the woman, Amott said.
The victim was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills and died there about 1:30 p.m., Amott said.
