In the men’s tennis State championships:

Saddleback team wins--Scott Hansen and Esteban Saba defeated Alex Copano and Oscar Mancisior of College of the Desert, 6-4, 7-5, to win the doubles championship at Chabot College in Hayward and lead the Gauchos to the team championship.

In the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships:

OCC crews advance--Each Orange Coast boat won its heat on Lake Natoma in Sacramento. The freshman eight won the 2,000-meter race in 6 minutes 18 seconds, four seconds ahead of Stanford.

The novice eight boat won its heat in 6:19, three seconds ahead of Sacramento State.
