Bail in Seymour Case: An American author charged with trying to blackmail actress Jane Seymour has been freed on the equivalent of $40,000 bail. George Mendoza, 57, of Greensburg Village, Pa., was charged with demanding $100,000 from the actress. Police said Mendoza contacted Seymour’s sister at the actress’ home in Bath, England, and threatened to publish certain photographs, tape recordings and other material if he wasn’t paid. Mendoza claims that he is innocent and vows to tell his “shocking” side of the story at an upcoming trial.
