He Must Be Doing Something Right
A reader from Alhambra (May 18) must have a short memory in crediting Magic Johnson’s NBA success to his “Worthier” talent. It must have been coincidence that his Worthiless high school team won the state tournament, his Worthiless Michigan State team won the NCAA tournament, and as a Worthiless rookie in 1980, he had to replace Kareem at center in the championship game against Doctor J and the 76ers. Can anyone picture another point guard playing center as a rookie in a championship game, scoring 42 points, pulling down 15 rebounds and winning?
I submit that Magic creates Worthier teammates.
