MISSION VIEJO : Member of Planning Commission Resigns
After serving six months as a planning commissioner, Charles Zimmerman has resigned.
In a letter delivered to the City Council last week, Zimmerman said business conflicts made him unable to continue as a commissioner.
He was appointed last December by City Councilman Robert D. Breton and confirmed by the council. Council members expressed surprise at Zimmerman’s leaving the commission post.
“I had no idea he was going to resign,” Councilman William S. Craycraft said. “It’s too bad he couldn’t continue as commissioner.”
Neither Breton nor Zimmerman could be reached for comment Monday.
Residents interested in filling the vacant Planning Commission seat can pick up an application at City Hall, 26522 La Alameda. Those interested in the position must file with the City Clerk’s office by June 14.
