As a native Santa Monican of 41 years, I’m deeply concerned for its future. Gone is the quaint, sleepy beach town where people of all ages, races and socioeconomic backgrounds could live together. It is rapidly becoming a vapid, pretentious city. Civic leaders and community members need to come together and re-examine their values.
