SEAL BEACH : Fee Hikes Proposed to Balance Budget

Share

To close a shortfall of nearly $1 million in the city’s proposed $17.8-million budget, city staff members have recommended raising a variety of fees for city services and licenses.

Recommendations presented last week include increasing the city’s utility user tax and charging more for street sweeping and tree trimming.

Among fees that would be raised are those for animal licensing, trash pickup and making copies of city documents. The proposals will be discussed at a 5 p.m. meeting today.

Another proposal is to eliminate a shuttle bus from Leisure World to the Rossmoor shopping center.
