Dorsey High Tops Schools in Voter Sign-Up Contest

Dorsey High School in Los Angeles has won two top prizes in a voter registration contest sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Dorsey won in the percentage category by registering 98% of its students 18 and older, and the actual number of students registered, 201, was the third-highest of any school.

In an effort to encourage newly eligible young people throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District to register to vote, all high schools were invited to participate. Garfield High School won first place for registering 311 students. Fremont High School won second place for percentage, with 96% registered, and San Fernando High School won second place for numbers, registering 224 students.
