Associated Press
Cincinnati Red outfielder Eric Davis was placed on the 15-day disabled list and pitcher Scott Scudder was activated and started against the New York Mets Monday night.
Davis, put on the DL retroactive to June 12, strained a muscle while running out a ground ball in a game against Montreal last Tuesday. Scudder, who was placed on the DL on May 31 with a strained rib cage, gave up five runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings in the Reds’ 10-6 loss to the Mets.
