A former Marysville police officer and 1986 candidate for Yuba County sheriff has been arrested on a murder charge in the 1990 slaying of a Marysville woman. Dianna Lynn Wood, 39, was found last July in her home with two small-caliber gunshot wounds to the head. Hoke Gilmer Jones, 52, who denies killing her, was arrested on a grand jury indictment. Jones, who pleaded guilty in 1987 to insurance fraud and was sentenced to six months in county jail, was a Marysville police officer from 1960 to 1966 and a Yuba County sheriff's deputy from 1975 to 1979.
