Sylmar Woman, 78, Killed When Struck by Car

A 78-year-old Sylmar woman was killed Tuesday when she was struck by a car in Sylmar, Los Angeles police said.
Ninfa Soto was crossing mid-block in the 14700 block of Polk Street about 2:45 p.m. when she was hit by a car driven by Sylmar resident Pablo Ramirez, 27, Officer James Johnson said.
Soto was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges were filed against Ramirez, Johnson said.
