ANAHEIM : Child-Care Proposal Subject of Hearing

Share

The City Council will hold a public hearing today to discuss a proposed child-care facility in a residential neighborhood in Anaheim Hills.

The site in the Del Giorgio-Stone Creek area would serve up to 240 children and would include a preschool. The school is proposed for a 1.2-acre lot at the intersection of Mohler Drive and Santa Ana Canyon Road, where a single-family home would be removed to make way for the project.

The Planning Commission has denied the project proposed for 111 S. Mohler Drive, saying the child-care facility and school would bring too much noise and traffic congestion to the neighborhood.

Frank and Sarah Minissale, who proposed the project, appealed the commission’s decision to the council, arguing that the school would provide needed child-care services for the growing hills community.
