Anthony Bartley of Lynwood High, who placed third in the boys’ triple jump in the state championships last month, has signed a letter of intent with the Cal State Northridge track and field program.

Bartley, who won the Southern Section 4-A Division title and placed first in the Masters meet, has a personal best of 48 feet 4 inches.

“(Northridge assistant) Tony (Veney) thinks he can get out to 51 feet next season,” Northridge Coach Don Strametz said. “(Bartley) needs to do some strength work to do that, but Tony is confident that with a good fall workout program he can.”

Bartley’s addition brings to 15 (eight men and seven women) the number of track athletes Northridge has signed since April 10.

Trevor Wilson, a former Cleveland High and UCLA standout, is among 11 players invited to the San Antonio Spurs rookie and free-agent camp, the NBA team said Wednesday.

Wilson averaged 2.2 points in 25 games for the Atlanta Hawks this season before being waived. The Spurs’ camp will open July 19 in San Antonio.
