PRO FOOTBALL : DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Paris Reports to 49ers at 327 Pounds

Offensive tackle Bubba Paris ended a three-day holdout and squeezed into the San Francisco 49ers’ training camp two pounds over a team-imposed weight limit.

“He was told to report at 325 pounds and he reported at 327, and that was OK in talking with the medical staff,” 49er Coach George Seifert said. “He passed his physical at 327, and we’ll just monitor the weight and just go from there.”

Last season, Paris’ weight ranged from 340 to 370 pounds. The signing of Paris to a one-year contract and linebacker Bill Romanowski to a two-year pact completed contract matters for the 49ers.

The 49ers put punter Barry Helton on the physically unable to perform list because of a lingering groin injury. Free agent Ralf Mojsiejenko, released late last season by the Washington Redskins, is the only punter in camp, although Seifert said others will be auditioned.
