Woods Six Strokes Off the Pace in San Diego
Tiger Woods, five-time junior world champion, is six strokes behind the leader after shooting a two-over 74 Tuesday in the boys’ 15-17 division of the Optimist Junior World Championships.
Woods, 15, of Cypress, blamed his sub-par round on his putting. He said he had trouble reading the greens on the Torrey Pines South course. The leader, Dan Dalton of Huntington Beach, who graduated from Marina High and attends UCLA, shot a 69.
Jin Park of Fullerton shot 53 to lead the boys’ 11-12 division at Singing Hills. The tournament concludes Friday.
