Two Florida residents visiting their son in Eagle Rock were shot by a man who stuck a gun in the open window of their car while they were stopped for a red light in Glendale Thursday night, police said.

Ralfe and Selma Silverman of Bay Harbor, Fla., told police that they had stopped at a red light at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Los Feliz Road when a man stuck a handgun into the front window on the passenger side of the car.

Selma Silverman said the man uttered something unintelligible, then fired into the car. The bullet went through Selma Silverman’s left index finger and through Ralfe Silverman’s right thigh, lodging in his left calf.
