Motorcycle Passenger Killed; Driver Arrested

A Littlerock man was killed and another was arrested for vehicular manslaughter Friday after a motorcycle accident in Lancaster, the California Highway Patrol said.
Kevin Powell, 31, was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter after his passenger, Malik Shabazz, 43, also of Littlerock, was killed in the accident, CHP Officer Tracy Huston said.
Powell, who police said was inebriated, was riding north on 95th Street East about 2:20 p.m. when he ran a stop sign at Palmdale Boulevard. Shabazz, his passenger, was struck by a car traveling west on Palmdale Boulevard, Huston said.
