Actresses Have an Even Tougher Life

I would like to thank Daniel Akst for his sympathetic and realistic article on acting, “For Many, Show Business Is No Business” (July 8).

And, if he thinks it’s tough for male actors, consider that, according to recent statistics, 75% of all roles are written for men, and when women do work, we earn less.
