Police are warning the public about a man who has robbed and raped three women within two weeks in the La Jolla area.
A 22-year-old woman who was sleeping on the beach with a male friend was robbed, raped and sexually assaulted at gunpoint about 2 a.m. July 6, said Bill Robinson, a Police Department spokesman.
In the second attack, about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, two juvenile girls were robbed, raped and sexually assaulted, Robinson said. Both attacks occurred near the 6900 block of Neptune Place, Robinson said.
The man was described as wearing a dark ski mask and dark clothing both times, Robinson said. He is said to be of medium build and his height is 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 531-2325.
