Harry Innocenti, the retired owner and operator of Aero Market in Glendale, has died in a Glendale hospital. He was 85.

A longtime Glendale resident, Innocenti died Thursday of complications from surgery, said his son, Harry Innocent Jr.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Innocenti came to California in 1945, where he worked as a waiter in Hollywood nightclubs.

In 1947, he opened Aero Market, which he operated for about 10 years until he turned the business over to his children, who continue to operate the market.

Innocenti later worked as a subcontractor on several construction projects. He was a member of the Elks Club in Burbank and Big Bear Lake, and the Exchange Club of Glendale.

In addition to his son, Harry Jr., Innocenti is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne Innocenti; son, Dick Innocent of Glendale; daughters, Dolly Alcorn of Glendale and Rosann Case of Sun Valley; brother, Joseph Innocenti of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral, with burial to follow, is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Hollywood Hills.

Forest Lawn Mortuary in Hollywood Hills is handling the arrangements.
