A pedestrian was killed on Interstate 5 as she tried to run across the freeway, authorities said.
The woman, who had not been identified, died at the scene about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday on northbound I-5, said Phil Konstantin, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.
She was reportedly running west on the freeway at Via de San Ysidro when she was hit by a car driven by Jose Miranda of San Ysidro, Konstantin said.
