Vista
One man was killed and a teen-ager was seriously wounded when gunfire erupted during an early-morning argument outside a Vista home.
Adrian Tafur, 26, was killed and Daniel Garcia, 15, was wounded after both were shot in the chest at 2:45 a.m. Sunday during an argument in the 1800 block of Goodwin Drive, said Sgt. Manny Castillo, a homicide investigator for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Tafur, of the 1500 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, died at Palomar Medical Center. Garcia, of the 1800 block of Goodwin Drive, was in serious condition at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla Sunday.
The two were among a group of men confronted by the two occupants of a red Honda, Castillo said. An argument ensued, and shots were fired from the passenger side of the car, he said.
The Sheriff’s Department has no suspects in the case, but the shooting does not appear to be gang related, Castillo said.
